GOOD VIBES RUN 2022

INTRODUCTION

In 2022 “Good Vibes Run” is a ‘hybrid’ event. It allows for a COVID-19 safe race, whilst maintaining a fun element in this non-competitive run.

Key event characteristics:

  1. Participants choose one of two designated routes; tthe Sunset Delight Route, and the Park Life Route
  2. Participants choose a time slot to start their selected route.
  3. Participants follow a fixed route, audio-guided by the MyRaceGate app
  4. Participants use the MyRaceGate app to record their selected route. The app stops the clock automatically when participants cross the finish line. 
  5. Results are posted immediately on the live leaderboard.

1      GENERAL

1.1       GOOD VIBES RUN 2022 is organised by MetaSport hereafter “The Organiser”.

2      PERSONAL HEALTH RISKS & PRECAUTIONS

2.1   Participants must follow all posted instructions while visiting any event-related venue. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness, permanent disability, and death. By visiting an event-related venue, participants voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19;

2.2   All participants must follow the following COVID-19 general guidelines:

  • All participants must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to race, or show a negative ART test taken.
  • A participant who feels unwell (i.e. fever, cough) should stay at home and not participate in the race.
  • If someone in a participant’s household has tested positive for the virus, the participant should be socially responsible and only leave the place of residence if ART result is negative.
  • Participants should maintain good personal hygiene by regularly washing hands using soap and water or alcohol-based (at least 65–70%) hand sanitiser for 20 seconds.
  • Participants over 65 years old, and any person with compromised health conditions should take greater preventive measures.
  • It is highly recommended under MOH latest advisory that everyone, in particular adolescents and younger men aged less than 30 years, avoid strenuous physical activity such as running, or competitive sports for two weeks after receiving any dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

2.3  While participating in the Event, participants agree to comply with any public health and/or safety directions of Organising staff, representatives or contractors; police; or government or health authorities.

2.4    Participants must be self-sufficient, as athlete services such as bag deposit and course drink stations are not provided.

3      RACE ENTRY – GENERAL

3.1      Participants must be 10 years old as at 17 September 2022 to take part in the  run.

3.2      Children between the age of 10 to 15 years as at 17 September 2022, participating in the non-competitive run, must be accompanied by a parent who will be responsible for their safety during the event.

4     REGISTRATION FEES

4.1   Once registration has been duly processed, there will be no fee refund for participants who do not eventually take part in the event for whatever reason, or who have registered in an incorrect category.

4.2   Event entries are strictly non-transferable.

4.3 In the event of force majeure, inclement weather, or other hazardous conditions, prior to or on event days, the Organiser reserves the right to reschedule or cancel the race without any refund of registration fees.

4.4   On the event day, in the event of inclement weather, force majeure or other hazardous conditions, the Organiser reserves the right to delay the commencement of the race, shorten the race or modify the course.

5      REGISTRATION PROCESSES

5.1   Registration may be completed online through the event website.

5.2   The Organiser will not entertain nor be in any way responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete or inaccurate registration details.

5.3   The Organiser reserves the right to limit and/or refuse entries without giving any reason.

5.4   Entries are not accepted after the closing of the registration period.

6      RESULTS AND TIMING

6.1   All results and rankings will be based on Real Time, which is the time from when a runner presses the start button on the MyRaceGate app at the starting point until he or she crosses the finishing point, as recorded by the MyRaceGate app.

6.2       In the event of the race app failing or other technical issues, the Organiser reserves the right to use a recording from a  secondary tracking device (such as a sports watch, Strava, RunKeeper) to determine a runner’s finish time.

7      FINISHERS AND PRIZES

7.1      Participants who successfully complete the event will be awarded a finisher e-Certificate.

7.2   Participants will not be awarded any trophies or medals, as it is a non- competitive event. 

8      RUN CONDUCT

8.1   It is the participant’s responsibility to start and finish at the correct location and complete the correct course.

8.2   Participants must complete the entirety of the course by themselves, and not use any other person, vehicle or mode to move their tracking device around the course.

8.3   Participants must start the event no earlier than Saturday 17 September, 0000 hours and finish no later than Sunday 18 September, 2359 hours.

8.4     Participants must ensure that all run tracking data has been uploaded to the MyRaceGate app successfully by Sunday 18 September, 2359 hours. 

8.5    Participants may complete the course only once, and upload only one set of run data per race distance for inclusion in the official results.Participants with duplicate data will be disqualified.

9    OTHERS

9.1 The Organiser reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change the venue, date or time of the Event. There will be no fee refund if the event is cancelled for whatever reason.

9.2 The Organiser reserves the right to amend any rules and regulations without prior notice.

9.3 Failure to observe the rules and regulations shall result in disqualification and no refund will be given. The Organiser, their partners, staff and/or agents will not be held responsible for any claims arising out of any death or injury, damage or loss, suffered or caused while attending this competition, and this includes all costs and expenses incurred as a result of such claims.

10    PHOTOGRAPHY

10.1 The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the Good Vibes Run, for any legitimate purpose, including commercial advertising and distribution to sponsors and partners.

10.2 Photography and/or videography will be taken during the event for news and publicity purposes by the official photographer and/or videographer, and may be used for print, social media and on online/electronic platforms of the Organiser. The Organiser owns all rights to the photographs and video recordings. If you do not wish to have any photographs or video recordings taken of you, please inform the Organiser.
